Top 100 baby names number 57

I thought it would be fun to look at the top 100 boys and girls names from last year.  I am doing a series on these with their meanings. Enjoy!

Today we have numbers 57 - Darcie and David.

So many little people called Darcy, Darcey, D'Arcy, or Darcie! This is definitely a name having it's moment, or at least it is for girls. Although the name is historically unisex, it does not appear in the top 100 boys' names. 

 

 David (Hebrew)

Derived from the Hebrew word דּוֹד (dod) meaning 'beloved' or 'uncle', David was the legendary second king of Israel whose Old Testament stories include his killing of the giant, Goliath.
