Top 100 baby names number 55

I thought it would be fun to look at the top 100 boys and girls names from last year.  I am doing a series on these with their meanings. Enjoy!

Today we have numbers 55 - Amber and Ollie.

Amber is fossilised tree resin. When warmed is has a faint woody scent. The name is though to come from the Arabic 'anbar', which refers to a different natural perfume, now known in English as 'ambergris'.

Ollie is of course a diminutive for Oliver, but where does Oliver come from? It's a bit of a mystery. The most commonly held view is that it's from the Latin, olivarius meaning 'planter of olive trees'.
