Training style
All of my training is informal, discussion-based and client-centred. Sessions are delivered in a lively, entertaining style and participants are encouraged to ask questions and raise topics of particular concern to them.
At the same time the training is mapped against the Adult Financial Capability Framework to ensure that sessions remain focussed and productive.
Many of the people most in need of this type of training have had negative experiences of formal education. An informal approach is accessible to all and helps build confidence. It breaks down the mystique around finance, increasing participants willingness to engage and to put what they learn into practice.
While some written work and basic arithmetic is unavoidable, this is minimised, so that those for whom literacy and numeracy are a struggle can still benefit.
