    Helping people to avoid debt, build savings and to become more confident consumers is a clear priority in these difficult times. There are a number of simple techniques and helpful organisations that can make this much easier. Unfortunately many people are unaware of them or may lack the confidence to make use of them and are left instead struggling alone.

    I offer training in various aspects of basic money management for individuals:

    • budgeting and planning ahead;
    • responsible affordable borrowing;
    • avoiding and managing debt; 
    • accessing and using financial services;
    • cutting the cost of bills;
    • saving for the future;
    • understanding pensions;
    • understanding insurance.

    For staff in organisations who would like to support their service users with money issues I also offer training on:

    • financial exclusion, causes, effects and solutions;
    • supporting your service users to access financial products;
    • how to talk to your service users about money;
    • legal aspects of giving guidance around financial issues;
    • basic debt advice.

     

    I can also help organisations who wish to develop a financial inclusion strategy and would like some guidance from an experienced practitioner.
